Lunch at Lake Breeze Winery
It was a beautiful day as we headed up to Langhorne Creek past water courses and vineyards. We had coffee in the sun at the Langhorne Creek General store then headed onto Lake Breeze for a wine tasting and lunch, chosen as they were voted the 2022 Halliday Best Value Winery of the Year
We decided that the Bernoota Shiraz Cabernet was a definite winner so bought another bottle, and enjoyed a glass or two of the Rosato with lunch (taking the remainder home with us). The food was excellent in a beautiful setting so totally recommended as a place for lunch!
We then cycled towards Rusticana to stock up on some of the Newmans mustards that can be purchased through their cellar door. Unfortunately the road was flooded and as we couldn’t easily identify a detour, we turned for home.
Back in Milang, we decided we had enough energy to explore the Nurragi Rail Trail on foot. We had considered the possibility of riding the trail, but the route lost its appeal once we realised that we would have to lift bikes over multiple stiles along 12 kms of challenging terrain. After a couple of kilometres, we decided to turn back and explore Milang, and its history as the largest inland port in South Australia in the late 19th century.
