Goulburn - Swan Hill

A long day driving

We left our accommodation at the Abbey Motel in Goulburn after a quick breakfast. Highly recommend the accommodation as very new and sizable rooms. We appreciated the little kitchenette which we put to good use for our dinner.

Day two of our travels involved a long drive – 7 hours from Goulburn to Swan Hill via Wagga for a quick lunch stop and then Jerilderie for a break at the bakery. Unfortunately, it was raining heavily so we decided against exploring the town – which was a shame as many of the buildings involved in the Ned Kelly raid still exist.

The rain eased as we drove into Swan Hill and our accommodation at the Australian Settlers Motel. Determined to get in some exercise, we walked through town and followed the Swan Hill River Walk along the Murray river and found some interesting art embedded in the trees near the Milloo St Wetlands.

We wandered back through town and headed to the Kak Kiah Malaysian restaurant for an excellent dinner.
