Old Tallangatta to Koetong return 63 KMs

Attempted to finish the High Country Rail Trail today by completing the Old Tallangatta to Shelley section. With Shelley being the highest station in Victoria we had a lot of climbing ahead of us.

The trail surface was quite rough for the first few KMs but got better as the climb started.

The views from the trail were fantastic and we passed many old wooden trestle bridges.

We got as far as Koetong for lunch, but the extra 20 KMs return to Shelley would take too long so we headed back down after lunch.
