Goolwa to Victor Harbor

Along the Encounter Bikeway

We cycled out of Goolwa in glorious sunshine – perfect weather for exploring the 30km Encounter Bikeway, an on road and shared trail that links Goolwa to Victor Harbor via Port Elliot and Middleton. It was easy riding along a stunning coastline with Horseshoe Bay being particularly scenic. We stopped at the Retro Vibe café for coffee in the sun before heading on through Victor Harbor, past the Tramway to Granite Island and along Encounter Bay to the base of the Bluff. We admired the views out to Granite Island before turning into the wind to head to Marg and Paul’s – my mother’s cousins.

After a well-earned lunch, Paul and Simon left to pick up our car from Tailem Bend, whilst I enjoyed a quiet afternoon, organising washing and gear in readiness for our departure the next day to Adelaide and the start of the Bike SA Annual Tour.
