After a leisurely breakfast we drove to Eugowra, the starting point of our four-day ride. We parked next to the police station, and a kindly resident in the adjacent house said he would keep an eye on the car.
Eugowra is renowned for its murals with over 36 murals as part of its mural trail including paintings of local businesses and wildlife. Other notable artwork included a dragonfly and fish.
Leaving town, we soon turned off the sealed road and wound our way along well-maintained gravel roads with nice views across the farmland and hills.
As we turned back on to sealed road, Eugene stopped due to a puncture so we decided it was a good time for our morning coffee and hot cross bun giving Eugene time to change his tube.
Further on, we found some appropriately positioned logs for our lunch on the edge of Nangar National Park and were soon approaching Canowindra. It was a quick check in to the Riverview Motel and we arranged to meet at 6pm to walk to the Golden Century Chinese Restaurant, located in the Bowling Club. We meandered through the deserted town, checking out options for breakfast, before arriving at the Club to find that it was full of locals, being the only place open on Good Friday.
We opted not to buy raffle tickets for the meat tray just in case we won, and enjoyed a drink and reasonable Chinese for dinner.
