Our exploration of Noosa started from home as we walked into Hastings Street for coffee. The heart of Noosa was very busy and traffic was at a standstill, with one lane closed, whilst work was underway on a building site.
After a coffee, we continued to explore Hastings Street before heading to the beach and picking up the boardwalk to Dolphin Point. Main Beach was well protected and it was very pleasant walking along the coast path and watching the surfers.
At Hells Gates we felt the full impact of the wind, with trees blowing sideways. We descended to Alexandria Bay where access was limited to a narrow strip of sand. It took just one big wave and my shoes were soaked. We continued around the headland to Sunshine Beach where we found a sheltered spot for a late picnic lunch.
We hopped aboard the waiting bus to Noosa Junction where we bought some Mooloolaba prawns for dinner before detouring to Coles then returning to buy some marinated salmon skewers.
Catching the next bus, we decided to continue to Tewantin for some gelato and walked back along the river to the Big Pelican before catching a bus the last few kilometres home.
