We hoped to avoid the worst of the forecast rain as we set off but it wasn’t long before we had to stop to put on our rain gear. Heading north, at least the 60km wind gusts were behind us. It was very windy and we felt its impact any time we changed direction.
We stopped for an excellent coffee at the Cuba St Coffee Roasters in Marcoola. It was a popular spot and we were pleased to escape from the weather.
The path hugged the coast as we approached Coolum Beach and the sea was wild. We stopped at a nice café in Peregian Beach and took our time wandering through the little shops before continuing on to Noosa and our accommodation at Noosaville arriving around 2:30pm.
We headed out a little later to walk along the Noosa River which was calm in the late afternoon light. After admiring the Big Pelican we walked to the supermarket to buy provisions for the next few days.
We decided to stop at Taka Boys for dinner even though it was not yet 6pm. We lingered over a glass of wine before ordering some mains an hour later. The waiter brought us an appetiser of some whipped ricotta on focaccia and some green olives, which we both enjoyed. Our mains of clam linguine and Nonna’s meatballs were also delicious.
